Social media content is the lifeblood of any successful marketing campaign. It drives new traffic to your website and improves your search engine rankings.
But how can you create fresh content that will keep people coming back for more?
It is time-consuming keeping up with all the social platforms available. And besides, writing the posts is already a lot of work…
I’ve got you covered 😎
In this blog post, I’ll show you how to take a single blog post and turn it into 10+ pieces of social media content.
Let’s dive in.
Break your Blog-Post into micro pieces of Content
The first step is breaking a blog post into smaller pieces of content. This should take no more than 5 minutes.
We’re not looking for the perfect social media post at this stage. Just to split the post into logical sections that can turn into several pieces of social media content.
Take a look at this post — Tools For Marketers: 60 Tools for Content Marketing.
This means this post can quickly turn into 13 social media posts.
To keep track of all the micro pieces of content, I use Notion. And this is how it looks like:
Each micro piece has a title to identify what it is about.
And, inside each micro piece, I simply copy what was written in the blog post for that section, like this:
Â
By the end of this process, you should have at least five pieces of micro content from a long-form post.
I’ve more than ten, but that’s because the original blog post had more than 4,00 words and multiple sections.
Write compelling copy for each social media platform
Now that you have all your micro pieces of content organized, it’s time to turn them into prosperous social media posts.
When it comes to formatting these pieces for social media, I stick to LinkedIn and Instagram first.
Why not Twitter? Because the limit on Twitter is quite limited, and after having a LinkedIn piece, it’s easier to cut it into several Twitter updates.
Guidelines writing social media compelling copy
Short paragraphs — hit “enter” for each 1-2 sentences.
Hook the reader with the first 2-3 lines.
Make the content scannable.
